Elect officials who will end sugar cane smoke pollution on island
During the last week of August and the first week of September, the burning sugar cane smoke filled my eyes. I could barely see traveling down from Makawao to my workplace. The smoke filled my lungs. I could hardly breathe.
How is it that the sugar company can still burn cane on Maui when it is hazardous to our health and environment?
People who read this letter, please make sure you vote for the right person to represent Maui. This is a very big issue, and we need big people to make big things happen for the betterment of our island, Maui.
